Motorcycle Unit
Currently, the unit is functioning as a regular patrol unit. With the exception of prisoner transports, paperwork services, or physical arrest, the motorcycle is being used as a routine patrol car. The Motorcycles have a high visibility in the community in preventative enforcement and have been used for special details, such as parades, funeral escorts, and community days. In February 2004, Patrolman John Harding attended the Motorcycle Operator and Instructor Training from Northwestern University. Patrolman Harding now is able to train and certify police officers as motor – unit operators.
