Citizen’s Police Academy

The Rochester Police Department will be holding its ninth annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting in early 2023.  Citizens who participate in this program will be exposed to the many facets of their police department through presentations by department employees, hands-on training and ride-a-longs with police officers. Here’s your chance to learn and become exposed to what your police department “really does”.

The Citizen’s Academy class will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for eleven weeks starting on March 24th and concluding on June 2nd. All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the commencement of the Academy, or 15 years of age or older if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The class is limited to 20 participants, and will be considered on a first come, first served basis, with preference being given to Rochester residents.

If you have questions, please contact Captain Andrew Swanberry at 330-7118 or via e-mail.
